About

In 1987 UAS started up with no clients or immediate prospects for business. The investment industry was going through a difficult time in the fallout of the unexpected crash widely known as Black Monday. UAS, determined to overcome every obstacle in its way, undertook a comprehensive review of prevailing investment strategies. This led the firm to its approach to investing, and confirmed the importance of compounding to the wealth building process.

“Success is no accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice and most of all, loving what you are doing or learning to do"

–Pele

Darius Mossavar-Rahmani

Principal Equity Analyst

Darius Mossavar-Rahmani is the Firm’s principal equity analyst. He seeks to identify publicly traded companies that meet the UAS definition of excellence based on sustainable competitive advantages, fortress financial statements and exceptional business qualities.

Recognizing that demographic and consumer trends are continually changing, Darius complements his research with direct observation by attending trade shows and analyst events and regularly traveling around the country. His boots-on-the-ground approach is instrumental in spotting future investment opportunities.

Darius joined UAS after graduating from Ohio Wesleyan University. His decade-long tenure has coincided with notable equity market events including major downturns in 2020 and 2022. Darius observed that the stock prices of great companies would swiftly recover. That observation confirmed for Darius that the best investment approach is to acquire high-quality equities and hold them over long periods to compound investment gains.

In addition to his investment duties, Darius sits on UAS’s board where he contributes his detailed understanding of the Firm’s business operations, client-centric priorities and founding principles. Darius resides in Manhattan and enjoys the city’s cultural offerings.
